Book Neurophysiology of the Jaws and Teeth is available to download free in pdf format.
This volume is a collection of eleven review articles on the properties and innervation of the muscles of mastication and on the control of the movements of the jaws and tongue. It originated from a symposium held at St Thomas’s Hospital in London but it is not just a collection of short, unrefereed papers duplicating material published in journals, as so often constitutes a symposium proceedings. The book provides a fascinating account of the differences, as well as the similarities, between the masticatory apparatus and the much more extensively studied motor systems in the limbs. It will be a valuable reference source for those engaged in research both on mastication and swallowing and on locomotion, as well as for students taking advanced courses in oral physiology.
